A break-up anthem to convince yourself you're over it.
Ashleigh wanted - no, NEEDED - to write a song that gave people the opportunity to feel their emotions after a break-up, but still gave them the opportunity to talk themselves out of a downward spiral. Thus, 'I'm Not Even (Mad)' was born.
“The songwriting is next level” - Global Media Blog
'Ashleigh’ is a new breed of pop focusing not only on irresistible hooks and lyrics that you can relate to, but a no nonsense approach. ‘I’m Not Even (Mad)’ is an empowering pop anthem for anyone that’s been burnt by an ex-lover, but you won’t see Ashleigh crying in a corner –
“It’s inspired by that crap that all ex-boyfriends throw at you after a break-up, “I know you don’t want to do this”, “I know you still love me” and all that. And I just wanted to write a song about how I know I was upset in the beginning but now I’m glad he’s moved on and is someone else’s problem, because I realise now he’s actually a bit of a boob and I’m better off. It’s a song to remind me that I’m actually a badass! - Ashleigh
Ashleigh is creating electro-pop with a decidedly human twist inspired by artists like Sigrid, Julia Michaels and Fickle Friends, we are set to see a swathe of support for her debut.
